3 things you need to do before going to Japan -

Japan is officially opened to all travellers and I know A LOT of people are planning their Japan trip as we speak. Here are 3 things you need to do before going to Japan.

1. Visit Japan Web

Make sure to download the “Visit Japan Web” app on your phone for easy access to the approved documentations. Do this ahead of time to speed up your process when you are at the airport. You will need to show it upon arrival in Japan.

2. Rent a wifi egg or get a SIM card

I got my wifi egg from Ninja Wifi. Their pick up location is right at Narita Airport so it was very convenient. They also have a drop box at the airport, incase you leave at a time when they are closed. 3. Add Suica to your phone wallet

For coin free transportation, I suggest adding Suica to your phone wallet. You have the option to add as much as you like and tap it at any train station. I’ve tried paying with cash before and you accumulate A LOT of coins at the end of the trip, which I would try to avoid next time.

Just go to your phone wallet and click the + button at the top right corner. It will bring you to the ADD TO WALLET page. Click Transit Card and scroll down to SUICA. It will lead you to the page to SELECT AMOUNT. Enter the amount you desire and it will be charged to your default credit card on file.
